Pictures say a thousand words.

As requested by a friend of mine, I'll attempt to let the pictures do the talking in this post. So I don't have to type several thousand words xD

**Warning: Ultra-Hyper-Super-Duper-Sexily LONG Picture Post!!**

For those who have low internet bandwidth, turn off the "always show image" option in your internet options and load the pics one at a time. =)

YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!

I'll start off with a few random pics since I just realised my card reader can actually read the memory card without the adapter. =)

Note: The pics are in chronological order.
After all, I am The Chronosapien, remember? xD

Photobucket
Attention camwhores!! This is your dream job!! Hahahaha!!

Okay... enough picture talk, my turn to talk!! =p

Last Sunday I went to Low Yat to buy a new CPU. I already bought the hard disk and DVD writer from the PC fair and I can just grab the RAM from my current comp.

So all that's left is:
1) Motherboard
2) Processor
3) Casing
4) Power supply (wanted to grab the old one but it sucks)
5) Graphics card
6) Webcam!! =p

My father only gave me enough money to buy items 1-4. Since the graphics card was my idea, I had to use my own money too. As for the webcam, my sis wanted to get one, so I may as well get one for myself too =)

I did some research beforehand on Intel Processors and compatible motherboards. Then I checked if it's available at LowYat.net as well as the prices. I wrote everything down on paper, but when I went to Low Yat, I forgot to bring!!
Mr. Forgetful strikes again!! Deng deng deng dengggg!! Lol...

But at least I can remember the name of the shop. When I got there, I asked around and no one knew anything about it. Darn...

What to do? I walked around, browsed through their price list hoping to get a reasonable price. Only after a few shops, I stopped at this particular shop since their prices were okay. Not the cheapest, but still reasonable. Okay la I admit, I was lazy to walk =p

I had a hard time deciding which brand of motherboard and graphics card to pick since the ones I chose were quite expensive, and I had a tight budget. Luckily the salesperson quite pro la, he asked about my budget and needs before picking the parts that suit me.

Just when I was about to give the green light, his boss took the motherboard I chose and started assembling it. Turns out that motherboard was the last one and the other customer already bought it.

He said: "Too bad la, you didn't pay deposit, so that motherboard let other people take..."

%$^@#%$%@##^&$%@#$

So he grabbed another more expensive alternative, but I trust the brand, Gigabyte. After adding up all the prices, he asked his boss for a discount on my behalf. Grr, they only gave me like, 10bucks discount!!

That's why even after discount, it still cost me RM1410!! I asked for 1400 but they were reluctant saying that this item got offer la, that item very cheap already la...

It was already 2pm and a lion dance was taking place in my stomach. So I went like "Okay la okay la, whatever makes you happy la..." (I did say that, serious!! =P)

After lunch, I went back to their shop to collect my CPU. It was damn heavy so I asked the fella to carry it down for me. He only carried it as far as Low Yat's entrance. My father said to take the taxi instead of monorail and LRT since I got so much stuff to carry.

I stopped a few taxis at Times Square and asked if they charge by the meter and you what they said?? "We don't use meter on Sundays."

They gave me absurd prices like RM20, RM25 and even RM35!! Their reason is that they won't have any customers that will return to KL after fetching me.

Bullshit... C'mon la!! There's like 6 bus stops near my house and 1 Utama will definitely have lots of customers... Pure boolsheet!! =p

They even tried to win me over by saying the coupon would cost around RM25, so their fees weren't expensive. I said "No thanks" and bought a coupon to Taman Tun Dr. Ismail. Guess how much did it cost??? RM16!!! Bloody taxi drivers...

At this point, if I don't post some pictures I think some of you might actually die of boredom!! =p

Instead of bombarding you guys with facts and figures, here's what I bought:

Since I don't have an extra monitor, I used my TV while transferring the files.

The graphics card and TV are both in HD, plus Windows Vista has 32bit graphics!!

It's freaking clear and sharp!!

OMG I'll never get used to the 17" monitor again... =p

I've never been so busy

I've heard lots of people say that their form 6 days were the hardest. After that its downhill all the way. Uni life may not be as hard, but its definitely the busiest.

For me, it all came to a peak this week, as I have 3 tests and a lab report in addition to the normal work I already have. I was so tired at times that I would hallucinate. I thought I was listening to the lecture but in fact my eyes are shut tight and my mind is somewhere in dreamland.

Since most of the lectures are in the morning, I couldn't seem to concentrate and thanks to the added stress, I had to use my study time to get some needed sleep. I don't really know why, but I could actually NOT-SLEEP during my LAN lecture eventhough its obviously 10times more boring than my normal lectures. Is it the fact that I don't listen? Or was I paying too much attention in my normal lectures that it sap the energy out of me? Or is it simply because my LAN is in the afternoon and the others are in the morning? Beats me...

Test 1 - Dynamics - 2 of 3 questions incomplete
Test 2 - Maths - I don't even know my mistakes
Test 3 - Physics - 1 of 4 questions completely wrong
Note: This does not include the mistakes I'm unaware of. T_T

My mid-sem test gone... Just like that...

Speaking of busy, I just had a no-pitstop day from morning till night. This morning, my physics test was held in Monash from 12pm to 1pm. My japanese class was 2-4pm. Footie was at 4pm to 6pm. The actual plan was that my friend, Zhu En, fetch me to uni from my house and then send me to japanese class right after. But since my mum allowed me to use the car, I drove there.

Here's the catch, I had to fetch my mum to Centrepoint, my sister to Kelana Jaya LRT station, and lastly fetch Lit Rong to attend the same test. It started at 10.30am that I drove my mum to Centrepoint, BU. Since I had to eat my lunch, I drove back home. After lunch at 11am, my sis hopped on and I drove to Lit Rong's house to pick him up since KJ station was on the way to uni.

After the test, Zhu En said that there would be a DotA session at NetMaster, DJ at 5pm. Without me, it would be canceled due to the odd number of players. So I drove Lit home and by the time I reached my japanese class, it was already 2pm. So I had no time to eat. Consequently, towards the end of the class at 4pm, my stomach started drumming. Again, I had little time to eat. And I can't eat much before footie.

So I bought some buns from 7-eleven and ate 3 out of 6 buns. I reached Belinda field at 4.30pm. Surprisingly, the game had yet to start. But as soon as I was ready, we started. There were 7 players, so the more skilled players were to be on the team of 3. So Min-Yi, Derrick and I were against the other 4 of them. Since there were only 3 of us, it required more stamina from each of us. Obviously, I was the one with the lowest stamina s I ran out of energy first. To make things worst, I think I over-ate so I had a stomachache and felt a little dizzy. So I stayed back as defense while resting.

Time really flies when you're having fun, even if it hurts (I mean my stomach). It was 5.05pm so I packed my stuff and headed to NetMaster. We played 2 games and ended at 8pm or so. And they wanted to watch the Arsenal match in a mamak while having dinner!! At that time, my mind and body was at its limit. I drove home, ate dinner, and wrote this post =)

***********************************************

Before I headed to NetMaster from Belinda field, I changed my shirt coz it was drenched in sweat. Then I realised that I accidentally brought a pair of pants too. So what the heck, just change la. I sat in the backseat of my car, look left, look right, look front, look at my friends playing football. "Okay, no one's looking, quickly change!!" The moment I took off my pants, this old fella was jogged past with a little glee on his face while a car came from the front parking his car in the house opposite of where I parked!!! OMG!! How on earth did this happen???
*Face turns apple red*

Sidenote: I'm saving my energy to watch the Blackburn vs Man Utd match tomorrow morning at 1am. Hope I don't collapse before that. =p

The Impossible Oath

Maka kami,
rakyat Malaysia yang berokok,
berikrar

Why did I spend 10 minutes writing this stupid oath?!
That's because I don't like smoking!!

Don't misunderstand, I have nothing against smokers. But people ought to be considerate, smokers or non-smokers alike. Of course, the smokers can help by doing the above. It doesn't mean that they can't smoke, but they can do it considerately.

One major issue I have against inconsiderate smokers is smoking in toilets!! I'd rather smell all the pee and shit there is in a dirty toilet than cigarette smoke. At least the former won't kill me.

Instead, I get "Malaysia's infamous rojak tandas"!! Apart from the intolerable smell of pee and shit, cigarette smoke is added into the mix, creating the "smog of death"!! If you don't suffocate till death, you would eventually die from cancer!! *evil laugh*

Littering is another issue for me. If I could find a dustbin before I even create rubbish, why can't smokers do the same?? Just find a dustbin/ashtray before you smoke. Simple enough? Surely you would say "what if there aren't any around?? I like to smoke where and when I like".

Okay fair enough. Could you at least put the cigarette bud back into the box? There's an empty space for that cigarette you just smoked right? Well just put it back in. And when you finally finished the box of cigarettes, just throw the whole box away... Simple right?? No, its not a fresh idea, its just that you never thought of not littering in the first place. =_=

I do mind when smokers just simply exhale the poisonous smoke in whichever direction they like, especially if its towards other people regardless of smokers or non-smokers. There is no doubt that second hand smoke (SHS) causes more damage than first hand smoke.

Normally I would just evade smokers by sitting as far away as I can. If not, I'll use body language to tell them that I don't like it. Although SHS will affect my health, its effects towards pregnant women and young children are significantly higher. Yet, my own uncle used to smoke in the presence of his pregnant wife and IS smoking in front of his kids. i.e. my cousins. It just didn't seem right for me to say "its for you and your family's own good". After all, his wife couldn't do anything about it, and you think I could??

I think heard my Pengajian Am (PA) teacher say that "smoking in public is illegal in Malaysia, but not many people know about it." I wouldn't jump to conclusions, so I did some searching and I found this website: Malaysian Council for Tobacco Control (MCTC)

mctc

Almost immediately, I found the folder which supposedly contain the laws regarding tobacco in Malaysia.

Lets take a look inside...

no law

What?? Nothing??? Well there should be!! Or so I thought...

IMHO, the government should really do something about it, at least to keep people like me from making it another reason to not vote for them.

Lastly, what would an anti-smoking post like this be without a no-smoking sign to end it with? =p

no smoking

Ah Long Pte Ltd

Photobucket

Jack Neo has did it again. His latest release, Ah Long Pte Ltd, was both funny and educational! It's really a MUST-WATCH movie for anyone above 18yrs old.
(Its rated 18PL)

Fann Wong

In the movie, Fann Wong plays the role of Wang Li Hua, the daughter of a triad gang leader. When her father steps down, she took over as the head of the "Shao He" gang. She thinks that the gang needs to undergo reformation and she also plans to use alternative ways other than violence to solve problems. However, she receives heavy objection from her father despite him being retired. At work, she is pressured by her father. At home, her mother constantly nags her about geting married. In desperation, she "forces" Mr. Fang (played by Mark Lee) to marry her.

Mark Lee

Mr. Fang, a dancing teacher, is quite an "ah kua" in this movie. Due to his straight forward personality, even his female students doubt his manhood. After all the jokes and being laughed at, he agreed to marry Li Hua (Fann Wong) to prove to himself as well as the rest of the world, that he is a true man.

Fann + Mark

Who knew that Mark Lee would make such a good ah kua!! In most of the funny parts, he is always the one doing it!! I especially like one scene so much, that I couldn't stop laughing!! xD Even when I think about it now, I would laugh like nobody's business!! Hahahahaha...
(It wouldn't be fun if I tell you which scene right? xD)

jack neo

Anyways, I really respect Jack Neo for all the good humor and ideas that he puts in his movies. He really knows where your funny-bone is and how to tickle it. At the same time, he portrays good moral values in a perspective that can be accepted by the general public.

So far, his movies (I'm not stupid, Just Follow Law, etc) never fail to induce the desired emotion in his audiences. E.g. happy, sad, touching, funny, sympathy, empathy, etc.

What really makes his movies realistic is that his movies always focuses on the current issues in society. Of course, he also does his homework to get the facts right.

I really like it when he acts in some small scenes just to give a sense of his existence in his own movie. I guess he enjoys being in his own movies too!! ^_^

Hope you guys watch the movie coz its really worth the ticket. =D
