Exams!! Woo~~

Speaking of exams, one word usually comes into mind,

STRESS!!

Well, I do feel a little stress, but its a mixed feeling of nervousness, joy and excitement. =p

Nervous, because I didn't really study this semester, often sleeping in lectures, not doing exercises, and slacking too much. =/

And because of this, I'm gonna turn on the "study" switch and turn off the "go online + gaming" switch. So don't expect much for the coming week or two. =)

Joy is because after the exams, I have lots of events awaiting me! Woohoo!! I'm going to Hong Kong this holiday!! Not to mention the family trip during Christmas too! =D

Hehe, why am I excited? Coz I applied for the exchange program and (I hope) I will be going to Australia next year! =D

Too bad its only for 1 semester, which is around 6 months. I initially wanted to go for 2 semesters which is 1 full year, but due to my parents' obligation, I have no choice. Although it's not confirmed yet, but I'm positive that they'll approve my application. =)

Another thing that I'm excited about is during the holidays, I'll be working part-time to earn myself some spending money in Australia and also hoping to earn enough for a new handphone. =P

I honestly don't know why I'm excited about this too! =p

For now, read this sign:

Random stuff from my handphone

Hah I really had no idea what to blog about and it so happens that I've plenty of unseen pictures and videos in my phone, so why not post them up? =)

First up are the photos =)

Photobucket
My baby cousin trying messing with my sister's phone =)

Did I mention that a bunch of us went to Batu Caves on the first day of Hari Raya? =)
Photobucket
This is the view from the top. =D

And this was how many steps it took to get up there. X_X
Photobucket
My legs were a little sore after that =p

Photobucket
Oh and this was near the top, but a fee was required to get in so we didn't bother.

Photobucket
My attempt to scare the birds to create those scenes you often see in the movies but failed miserably =p

My father took us to this restaurant in Tropicana and this was one of the special dishes.
Photobucket
The flames heat the paper, and the paper heats the soup! Apparently the paper will not burn as long as there is soup in it. =)

Photobucket
Did I mention that their specially blended sauce is heavenly too? xD

Photobucket
There was an anime fest in my uni a few weeks back =)

Photobucket
Hah this fella is really into his character!! =D

This was one of my BIG projects where we had to build a bridge using 100% NEWSPAPERS (and glue)
Photobucket
This group used the truss design =)

It was REALLY SOLID la!! 20kg was placed on it and it only deflected 1mm!! OMG!!
Photobucket
After the testing, one person tried standing on it, and it didn't break!! Freaking chun!!

This was my group in the process of rolling the newspapers for the bridge. =)
Photobucket
On the left is Qihan and right it my group leader, Chee Wei. =D

OMG so little pictures only!! xP

Now here comes the videos! =D

I didn't use YouTube cos it kinda ruins the quality of the video when played...

Oh well, PhotoBucket will have to do the trick =)

My baby cousins playing with each other =)

Cute right? xD

Chung Kent vs Kee Peng @ Genting Highlands xD

Chung Kent's 19th Birthday Splash! =D

Cameraman : Thong Siang

Wai Yi's Birthday Splat!

I don't know whether this was her 18th of 19th birthday, I'm guessing... 18th =)

My Mechatronics 2nd year project =)
(This was one of the seniors project)

The task:
1) Travel through a bumpy surface
2) Go up the ramp and drop a tennis ball as high as possible
3) Turn and travel through the ball field
Sounds simple? But it's actually not =p

This is Shon performing some magic =)

Ok from this point onwards the topic will be:

THINGS WE DO WHEN WE'RE BORED =D

In my Form 6 school, my juniors really have lots of time in their hands despite the fact that it was their SPM year... xD

He jumped through the window! OMG! xD

This video quite chun, I like! xD

When my TTDI house underwent a 5-month renovation, we shifted to Kota Damansara temporarily and the place was REALLY BORINGGG!!!

I’m Going Silent this Halloween with Nokia XpressMusic

Trick or treat!! xD

Remember the good ol' times where we used to dress ourselves up in costumes, whether it was as scary as Dracula and Frankenstein,
PhotobucketPhotobucket

or as cute as Mario and Luigi,
Photobucket

or simply sexayy,
Photobucket

we're all after the same thing,
.

.
.
.
TEH KENDEEES!! =D

Photobucket

But ya know, costumes are expensive...

How bout masks then? =)
Photobucket

Nah, I can't afford them either. =p

But I could put on my personal "mask", easy and economical! =)

Photobucket
TADAA!! =D

Photobucket
"You've got a problem with me, bulb?" xD

Heyyy wait a minute!! We don't really celebrate Halloween in Malaysia.

Aww... And I was getting myself all hyped up there...

BUT WAIT!!

I just found out that Nuffnang and Nokia is organising a
Silent Halloween PARTYYY!!

But how can a Halloween Party be silent??

Easy, with the Nokia XpressMusic series, I could listen to my favourite songs by simply pressing a button and STILL RAWK THE PARTY!!

Photobucket

If it's still not enough, I could use their new innovative feature called Say and Play to summon the scariest of screams, an evil laugh, or even some creepy music to scare the lights out of the Nuffnangers!! *Evil laugh* xD

But hey, if you really wanna set your eyes on some real life ghosts, this video will definitely make you believe in ghosts.
I'M SERIOUS!!

See for yourself then:

If you notice carefully, you'll see a faint ghost following the car in this rejected commercial.

That's all for now folks!! =)

See you at the party!! =D
Btw, I found this so damn funny!!

In WiMax I Trust(ed)

It was only less than 2 weeks ago that I subscribed for a WiMax connection. At first I thought it was from P1, I only realised that it wasn't 3 days later... LOL!

It took a while for the promoters from Amax to convince me to subscribe. One of the main reasons that held me back was the 3 months advance payment upon subscription. The bill was RM138/month, so 3 months would sum up to RM414!! That's a lot for a student like me. =)

But the only factor that made me subscribe was the 7-day cooling period. That means I have 7 days to try out WiMax before they officially check the RM414 into my account. Within this 7 days, I can terminate my subscription if I want to and get a 100% refund. =)

After I finally subscribed for the 1.5M package, I was too excited to try out their connection speed! =D

I went straight home and plugged it into my computer. A little tweaking on my network settings and it should work like a charm. But to my disappointment, it didn't. =(

I called the person who sold me the package numerous times and they checked if there was a problem on their side lots of times too. They confirmed that their towers are working, my account is fully activated and I should get my WiMax connection. But I still didn't get any connection!! *frustrated*

After a few days, they sent in a so-called technician. He brought his laptop plugged with a portable USB WiMax modem. He started streaming on YouTube before entering my house just to prove that the signal was not a problem in my house. =.="

Judging by the way he works, I can tell that he's a lousy technician because I already tried everything that he came to do. Then he checks his laptop's connection just by playing the pre-loaded YouTube video and claimed that the signal was good!! *LAME*

I checked the modem they gave me and it wasn't even connected to their side. So I was 100% sure that it was their problem (or at least the modem's problem). The technician then left and said that he will continue checking the connection on their side.

Then the Hari Raya holidays commenced and no one was working so I couldn't get anyone to fix my connection. Then I got a call on Friday. They said that they're sending their technician to my house on Monday... AGAIN!! =/

I was thinking "if its that noob technician again, forget it!! I'll just terminate my WiMax!!"

Then on Monday, which was yesterday, "they" came. It was a 4-man team. Kinda like a bomb squad ready to defuse the bomb in my house lol. All of them opened their laptop and all of a sudden my house looked like an operations center for the military. xD

Two of them were chinese and spoke mandarin with a China-ish slang. The other two were Malays, one of which came previously. This time, I can tell that the two chinese fellas were more competent in fixing this than the other two. At least they know what they're doing and what was the problem.

FYI: I asked and they're actually from the company who built the WiMax towers and in-charge of the technical stuff.

Turns out that my house, eventhough less than 500m from their tower, is located at the border of the WiMax beam's trajectory. Here's a rough idea:

Photobucket

All this while, I placed the receiver right at the center of my house, covered by a few layer of walls. Since my house was at the border of the beam, the signal cannot penetrate my house. So the solution was to place the receiver next to the window or outside to get better signal strength.
(The previous technician was WRONG after all!!)

The problem is, my computer together with the network links of the whole house, is located dead center of my house downstairs. So either the cables aren't long enough, or it'll look freaking ugly.

Since there was an unused network point in my room next to the window, I placed it there but now only my computer could use WiMax.

Another thing was that, it's already wayyyy past 7 days after I subscribed for WiMax but I only got to use it yesterday. So I asked the person at the office if he could extend my cooling period. And thankfully he did, or else I would be defaming Amax here. xP

So now, I have 7 days (starting Monday) to fully utilize WiMax until my father decides to switch from Streamyx to WiMax. Then he'd be the one paying the bills and I can claim my RM414 from him. =p

Otherwise, I'll be terminating the WiMax subscription and sticking with TMNut (not a typo) until something better comes along or Streamyx decides to give me my full bandwidth.

Good thing about WiMax is that the download speed is wayyyy better than Streamyx. At least they deliver what they promised, which is a 1584kbps download bandwidth.

But there's bound to be a bad side to everything and WiMax is not excluded. Their upload speed is kinda slow... But in fact, who cares!

Lol... I don't actually upload large files or anything, so why should I care? =p

Below is a comparison between WiMax and Streamyx using SpeedTest.

Don't be mistaken, this is not the minimum, but the maximum bandwidth I could squeeze out of both ISP's. I turned off all my internet programs and the modem is solely connected to my computer to get maximum speed.

TMNet Streamyx

My Streamyx package is actually 1.5Mbps download and 512kbps upload. Yet, they're only giving me half of everything. =(

Amax WiMax
(I seriously don't know why is it "TIME")

My WiMax package is also 1.5Mbps (1584kbps) and I'm getting more than I should! Which is a good thing. =D

They said that they're currently concentrating on the download speed so WiMax's upload speed is only 20% of their download speed, which is around 280-320kbps.

The point is, WiMax is giving me what they promised but Streamyx isn't.

I'm paying RM66/month for 723kbps (Streamyx)
and RM138/month for 1667kbps (WiMax)
(upload is neglected since it's almost the same)

Double the money for more than double the bandwidth. Sounds like a good deal to me. =)
If only my father had the same view. =Þ

Here's an example of what I can do with WiMax =D

Have fun reading! =D
