近睡者静, 近赌者闹

My first title in Mandarin!! =D

Ok la, I know there're lots of bananas reading my blog (you know who you are) so I'll explain briefly.

The first 4 words basically means the ones who sleep are quiet.

The last 4 words means the ones who gamble are noisy. =p

It all started on Monday, right after I sent my brother to tuition, I was about to eat my dinner when Kee Peng messaged me asking if I wanna go to the pasar malam (night market) in SS2 to eat.

But there was a reason behind that message. I only found out after I called him. Guess what? They needed transport to get there... -.-

They = Kee Peng and Chung Kent

They also asked me to bring Satchid along.

And so we went, looking for the best stuff there to fill up our stomach. Except Satchid who just had his dinner. On the other hand, Kee Peng was hunting for some nice durians even before we ate anything.

We insisted that we fill our stomach with something decent before having durian. So we headed to the famous Asam Laksa stall to eat.

There were so good in fact, that their special noodles ran out, and only beehun and the yellow noodles were left. Chung Kent and I ordered beehun while Kee Peng wanted a mix of both.

While eating, I just remembered that I have to fetch my brother from tuition at 9.30pm!! And it was already 9.25pm... So I quickly gobbled down the asam laksa and rushed to fetch him.

I tried to take him to the pasar malam instead of back home since it would save me lots of time, but he refused. What to do? I dropped him in front of the house and yet again, rushed to SS2. =(

Kee Peng was saying how lucky he was in getting parking spaces all the time. And even said "Aiyah, Sze Wei drive ah? Sure no parking wan..."

Who knew? When I reached SS2, a parking space presented itself just as I was trying to find one!! Haha!! =D

They said they found an all-you-can-eat durian stall for only RM10!! I didn't really believe it until I actually saw it. No joke! RM10 per person = unlimited durian!!

At first, we all thought we hit the jackpot, but it was the exact opposite!! The first 2 durians they served us were decent, but the next few was rubbish!! Chung Kent even said "10 bucks to torture ourselves!! Ahhhhhh!!!"

But Kee Peng the smartass said "C'mon la, we have to eat more to get back our 10 bucks!! Come Chung Kent! I challenge you, see who can eat more!!"

In the end, guess how many durians the 4 of us ate??

I estimated around...

***16!***

I'm serious!! We filled 1 basket full with durian shells when we were done!! No shit!!

I felt like I just swallowed a rock!! My stomach was so bloated that I had suppress it from vomiting. Too bad for Chung Kent, cos he vomited after eating so many...

After our torture durian session, they wanted to try out the new karaoke my father bought. So I sent them to my house.

I had expected my siblings to be sleeping by 11pm but they were still watching the TV when we reached my house. By that time, everyone felt their body was flaming hot!! So I quickly gave them some ice water to cool down.

I wasn't feeling that good myself either. If they had not told me, I wouldn't have noticed that my whole face had turned apple red!! But who wouldn't feel the heat after eating that much durian!!

Since my siblings were still watching TV, I can't set up the karaoke. So I took out a deck of cards and we played a match of "chor dai di" (Big 2).

After only 1 match, we started playing poker!! Texas style... =O

I took out the chips used for mahjong for betting. I wanted to make things interesting by multiplying every value on the chips by 1000, since the minimum was 5, that would make it 5000. But they just couldn't resist gambling with real money!!

So we agreed that the value on the chips are in cents.
E.g. 5 = RM0.05, 500 = RM5.00

Everyone had around 10 bucks to begin with. But we were so noisy, that my sister came out of her room and shouted at us!! Which explains the title of this post =)

Kee Peng was the one who set the time limit to 12 o' clock. Yet, he was also the one who kept saying "Last 2 rounds / last round / semi-final / final"

And the real "last round" didn't came until 1am+ cos he was losing and wanted to win it back. I was losing too, so I didn't really mind continuing. But the worst part was that I have to fetch them back. So delaying the game would only cost me my sleep.

After winning back some, they ended the game. I won around 2 bucks =) Chung Kent was the one who suffered the biggest loss, since after he lost his 10 bucks, he continued playing by borrowing 5 bucks each from me and Satchid. But at least, he won back a little, or else he could've lost 20 bucks!!

Oh well, after I sent them back, right before I wanted to bath, my whole body starting sweating like hell!! I swore my sweat could've easily filled up a few cups full!!

Sleeping with a rock in your stomach ain't as easy either. I think my situation was similar to a pregnant lady. I had a large stomach with something heavy inside, and I felt like vomiting.

However, in the morning, I don't know how but all of the durian was gone!! My body was back to normal!! Or so I thought...

Don't tell anyone, k? Coz today, when I was in uni, I released a lot of silent gases, and they all smelled like.... DURIAN!! xD

Even my pee had a strong scent of durian... Paiseh... =p

It will take some time for my body to regulate back to normal.

But for now, DON'T EVER MENTION THE WORD "DURIAN" IN FRONT OF ME FOR ANOTHER MONTH!!

I've never done something so crazy in my life...

AND

I've never felt to sick of durian in my life also...
I used to be able to eat durian everyday for a month.

Enjoy!! =D

Futsal

Ok I finally found the time to write this =)

Futsal is my favourite game la. It's unlike soccer or football where the field is so big, that just running across the field would drain all the energy out of me.

That's not all, even the goal post in a futsal court is smaller and therefore makes it easier for goalkeepers like myself to save the ball without actually diving for it. Especially when the court has no artificial grass and a dive could cost you a limb.

But since futsal courts are smaller, the players are more prone to injuries due to accidents. Let me give you a picture of how often injuries occur here.

For every game, at least 2 players will get bruises, at least 1 person will bleed, at least 1 person will get a cram (or almost a cram) and for every 2-3 games, there will be a serious injury such as twisted or sprained ankles that would require weeks or months to heal.

As for myself, I've injured my right ankle countless times and the 'tit da' doctor would always say: "futsal again?" Hahaha...

But my ankle is nothing compared to my left hand. Last year, 2007, when I was having my STPM, I injured my left hand in a futsal game while goalkeeping. The shot was so unexpected that I didn't put any force on my hand to stop the ball, and so it got folded backwards. Even until today, my left hand would hurt if I even carried something with it. But I'm all to used to the pain already...

Only recently, which was last week's Wednesday, I played futsal together with Lit Rong. It was in that very game that he injured his ankle. Luckily it was his left ankle so he could still drive.

But from the next day onwards for a week or so, he had to walk with the aid of crutches. And in the same week, on Friday, Kee Peng also injured his leg in a futsal game!! Just a few weeks back, he injured the same leg and it was healing. Now that he's injured it again, it would take ages to heal!!

The adults on the field volunteered to send him to the nearest hospital, but he refused. He even continued to drive with his right leg injured. FYI, he drives a manual car. And on that same night, he wanted ease the pain by going to a cyber cafe. LOL =p

But thank god, his girlfriend arrived and insisted that he visit a doctor. Eventhough he was reluctant, but I guess even he couldn't go against his lover. =)

Below are the pictures from a futsal competition that I joined with Zhu-En, my uni friend. It was a already a few months back. That's because I was lazy =p

We started with off with an ice-breaking game =)
Photobucket

And here comes our first match =D
Photobucket

Remember what I said about injuries?
Photobucket

Poor guy, he was our best striker...
Photobucket

Even so, he continued to play after having his hand wrapped up =p
Photobucket

And we won our first match!! =D
These were the 2 girls in my team that was compulsory for each team.
Btw, if the girls score = 2 goals, guys score = 1 goal... xD
Photobucket

From left: Me, Zhu-En, Younes
Younes is also a very good striker. =)
Photobucket

"Oh so we'll be up against them next"
Photobucket

He fell and got injured again... OMG!!
Photobucket

But he's still standing and playing strong on the field.
I really respect him for his spirit. =)
Photobucket

Defense! =D
Photobucket

I think this was the penalty shot. =)
Btw, we won that match =D
Photobucket

Behold, man of the match =D
Photobucket

Photobucket

The person who brought me here and lent me his shoes, Zhu-En and his girlfriend, Badrinna =p
Photobucket

Our star player, he's not giving up that easily =)
Photobucket

My uni-mates, Younes and Zhu-En =)
Photobucket

Aww, the nurse said he must rest and forbade him from playing =(
Photobucket

Attack!! =D
Photobucket

Nice shot from both Younes and the photographer, Seng Chye =D
Photobucket

Ok this is gonna be a goal... =D
Photobucket

GOALLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!
Photobucket

Yet another penalty shootout. =p
Photobucket

Here come's the ball!! =O
Photobucket

OMG I missed... =S
Photobucket

Nevertheless, it was a good game. Although we didn't get into the finals, but we won the last match and got 3rd!! =D

Another genting trip

Last Saturday, Qi Liang, Boon, Liang Shen, Heng Soon, Chee Keong and myself went to Genting Highlands for a 1-day trip.

The ticket was RM50 for a 2-way trip and the theme park ticket. Quite reasonable if you ask me...

We were supposed to meet at 7.40am at 1 Utama bus station. I arrived at around 7.25am. We then took the 8am bus up to Genting. Ah, finally I could get some sleep on the bus =)

The night before was so tiring cos I went for futsal. I even slept late cos I was playing CoD4 =p

But I couldn't really sleep, my ears kept popping and it was freaking annoying until it kept me awake the whole way!! Argh!!

As usual, the cable car was next. No way I could sleep here either... On the way, they announced that the cable car was to undergo maintainence in a few days time. So they were talking about the cable being at its limit and could break anytime!! OMG... *touches wood*

Fortunately for us, that didn't come true after all... Hahaha...

Since most of us are not frequent visitors of Genting, we got kinda lost while finding our way to the theme park. Despite the blind leading the blind, we managed to get our asses to the theme park.

Little did we knew, that the theme park was totally covered by the mist. So that means, for safety reasons, most of the fun rides were closed!! =(

That includes the Corkscrew, Go-Kart, Flying-Coaster, Pirate ship, even the kiddies ride such as the merry-go-round was closed!! Wtf...

So we lingered around looking for those which were open despite the 10m visibility. Serious!! No joke man!! Qi Liang took a hike up front and he disappeared into the mist...

The only fun ride that was open was the Space-Shot, a.k.a. Solero-Shot. Qi Liang and I queued for approximately 20minutes, then we got onto the ride. The thing is, it was so misty that once I was halfway up, I could see absolutely nothing!! So I don't know how high I was or how far I'm gonna drop which sucked out all the fun.

Since there were so little rides outdoors, we settled for the indoor ones such as Bumper-car, the slow boat ride, the indoor coaster, the 4D movie, and walked around hoping that the mist would lift soon.

By 11.30, we wanted to head outdoors but the mist was still too thick. So we decided to eat our lunch early. Heng Soon said the "Hou Mei" in KL was pretty famous, so we ate at the "Hou Mei" in Genting.

Trust me, eventhough the names are the same, but the differences are huge!!! After we ordered our food, they suddenly gave us the bill and asked for us to pay first. Initially, none of us knew why they did that. But the reason wasn't too hard to figure out later.

Our food took 45 freaking minutes to arrive!! And the customers who came later than us were getting their food served almost immediately!! Liang Shen, who was pissed eventhough his food was already served, scolded the waitress several times before Qi Liang and my food came.

Liang Shen insisted that it was our rights as a consumer but others thought that he should've exercised it with less aggression. I admit, I was pissed too. But seeing Liang Shen and his actions, I felt kinda bad if I actually did it myself also.

Their tactic: Make you pay for your food before it arrives so even if you left before your food arrives, they would suffer no loss.

This is my warning to all who eats in Genting:
Don't eat in Hou Mei!!
Don't eat in Hou Mei!!
Don't eat in Hou Mei!!
Don't eat in Hou Mei!!

I think you should get the message...

Where was I again? Oh ya, after lunch, the the mist remains thicker than ever!! So we went for the Dragon ride, another kiddies ride. While loitering around, the sun came out!! We immediately head to the nearest ride, the Fun-Kart!! =D

Driving the go-kart was relatively easy, since most of them did not travel faster than 15km/h. Except mine that is... =D

My kart was the fastest go-kart in the track. Lucky me =)
I easily overlapped the last person 3 times in 7-8minutes!! xD

Then, we headed to the corkscrew. By then, the queue was so long, we waited for 30minutes before getting our turn. I don't know why, but eventhough the ride takes you upside-down twice, I didn't feel that adrenaline-rush I was supposed to. =p

I was telling Qi Liang how exciting the Flying-Coaster is, so he decided to give it a try despite the RM10 fee. I remember paying RM10 for 3 rides when I came with the Samad gang. This time, it's RM10 for 1 ride!! OMG... 3 times price increase... Qi Liang was also saying that it was fun, but not worth RM10 for a single ride...

Then, all of us met up at for our last ride, bumper-boat. Each session was 10minutes so we waited for about almost an hour before it was our turn. By the time we finished, it was already 5.45pm. We were supposed to board the cable car at 6pm.

Remember I was saying we had trouble getting to the theme park?
Well, deja vu... We took a while to figure out how to get back to the cable car too =p

Chung Kent wanted to watch "The Dark Knight" right after I reach 1 Utama, but later said that he could not get tickets. In my mind, I was like "duh... it was a Saturday night..." It would've been a miracle if he could get tickets, which I don't mind either. =p

Since there was no movie, I took the bus home and 'slept like a pig', like how Kee Peng likes to say it.

That's all for now. Enjoy! =D

My first Bon Odori

I first heard about Bon Odori last year from a friend, but didn't manage to go...

This time, I went with a bunch of my friends =)

According to my japanese teacher, our ancestors who lives 'up there' felt bored. So they chose this day every year to come down from the heavens to have fun!! =D

It started at Qi Liang's house. Chee Keong and me went to his house to meet up, then drive there in one car.

Just look how excited Qi Liang is!! =D
Photobucket

Me and Yi Ching, Qi's neighbour. =)

Later on, we met up in Heng Soon's house...

The route was not that complicated, but they made it seem that way =p
Photobucket

Then we went to Charles' house coz his friends are meeting there.
Why are we waiting~~~
