Orientation Part 2

Sorry I didn't had the time to update...


Was really busy throughout the week...


Tuesday

Starting with...


Healthy Breakfast!!



Basically we drank juice/milk and ate bread/cereal then fruits like banana, orange, peach, etc.


Later on we visited the beach in Mornington!! :D


The irony is, the weather is cold (14°C) but the beach is hot.


So what do we wear to the beach??


Well... I wore shirt + shorts and brought my jacket.


True enough, the wind was strong and the air was chilly.

But when we reached the sandy area, it was hot wherever there was sunlight. So the sand was either really hot, or really cold (in the shade).

After I got out of the sand, I played frisbee with a bunch of Australians.


Yeap... That's me and I look friggin' fat! =p


Two of them are actually competitive frisbee players and they're SO GOOD!!


It's not these two but they're quite good as well.


So obviously one team had the advantage and was owning the game. Even their teammates picked up some skills from them and got better as the game progressed.


When we were finished, I took a walk to the town with the Malaysian gang...


Oops, not ready yet... :P

Later that evening, Farrer Hall had a Beach Party at the common room. Everyone was supposed to be dressed as if they were going to the beach, but half of us didn't bother. =p



The common room became the dance floor for the night.



Question: Do I look drunk?

Reason: I drank 6-7 cans of beer... xD



The party ended at midnight... =)



Thursday

We had our workshop for the free bicycle scheme in campus.


At the end of the induction, we lined up our bicycles in front of the religious centre in honor of the person who made this bicycle scheme possible. Sadly, he was killed in the bushfire.


Just pretend we're not smiling ok?


Later that evening, we had an interhalls dinner!


So far, our meals were only within our own halls, but for this night, everyone from the halls are having dinner together! =D


The food was really good and there was a lot to go around too!! =)


Shortly after dinner, we had to rush to catch the bus to Luna Park!!


Luna Park is actually a theme park in St Kilda and Monash University booked the entire park for us!! =D

PJ Brekky!!

PJ = Pajamas
Brekky = Breakfast

People here is Australia just love to put a "y" or "ie" behind most words.


Example:
Brekky, footie, Aussie, shorty, Macky (McD), etc.
(can't think of anymore =p)


On the blackboard, it was written that PJ brekky was 9am.


I'd reckon that everyone would wake up at 8am, bath, wash up, and would no longer be in their PJ's.


So the RA's kinda figured that out too.


They started banging their pots and pans against our room doors before the sun was even out!! (Sunrise is around 6.30am)


At first I was like... "brekky already?"


Then I looked my my alarm clock and it was 5am!!


"What kind of sick joke is this??" I thought...


I tried to cover my head with the pillow but it was just too noisy!!


"Which son of a b****!? @#$%^&*" I thought as I opened the door.


I was still really blur at that time so I just followed them to the common room.


Even after the RA announced our destination and to bring our wallets, I was dreaming away on the couch.


In the end, we walked like 20+ minutes to McD in our PJ's and it did really turn out to be a PJ Brekky... Not in a way I had imagined though...


Imagine you, in your sleeping attire, walking 20minutes continuously when it was 20degrees outside with strong winds blowing in your face!! xD



Alas, the moment you've been waiting for: Photos!!


I was so blur that I didn't bring anything but my room keys so I had to borrow Jia Chen's cameraphone. =p

Reached my room at around 7am+ so I bathed and did my laundry.


Later on I went for the information session for the free lunch. =p
(Typical Malaysians lar... xP)


During lunch, a fellow Malaysian told me where I could get cheap computer stuff and at the same time, I was looking for an M2 memory card for my handphone.


Since the shop was outside the campus, I cycled to the bus loop, parked the bicycle there and walked. It took around 20+minutes even when I speed-walked!! X_X


In the end, I was late for the chicken and salad dinner for my hall, so I pretended to be a Howitt and ate their chicken instead!! xD


They had lots of chicken leftover anyways. =p

Quite a good deal I must say...


At the Three shop, they were selling $47+ for just 2GB...
('Three' is one of Australia's mobile service providers)

Orientation Week part 1

On Friday, we had this Fun-Day thing where we all get to play sporting activities or team building activities.


I chose team building activities as I was quite tired from the Monash Dash in the morning.


This was what we did:

The indoor swimming pool, cheap, but small. =)


On Friday itself, we had a Monash Welcome Dinner for intercampus exchange students. So all of us had to 'dress to impress' so they say. =)

We went shopping at Brandon Park because there was a free shuttle bus directly from Farrer Hall. =D



The people here are more fond of using shopping bags compared to plastic bags. Save the environment! =D

Sunday: Scav-Hunt in the city of Melbourne

Basically they started off with pub crawling.




Me and Kok Wee had nothing to do since we don't really drink in the middle of the day. =p



If a coin gets thrown into your cup, you'd have to finish it all at once!
